Made from a beige Japanese Suede fabric which is sent up to the North East of Thailand for a natural indigo dying treatment. Our friends in Sakon Nakhon are perfectionists in natural dyes creating beautiful colors from 100% plant based resources. Our original beige suede fabric is dipped countless times in the natural indigo vat to give us this perfect blue. A number of tests, trials and errors were conducted before achieving this blue hue. We dip the textile in the yellow-blue indigo vat expose it in the air so it turns from yellow to blue and then dip again for up to 12 times before achieving the depth of blue that we want. Indigofera Tinctoria is the plant most commonly grown and used for indigo dying in the North East of Thailand, Sakon Nakhon. It takes generational talent and wisdom to be able to do this and make it work, we are happy to be able to collaborate with these talented individuals who live and breathe indigo. The pocket of this piece has a tie dye pattern which is created by tying knots of the fabric and dipping into indigo to create a pattern. With the tie dying technique the pattern is random and shows off the original beige suede fabric together with the indigo. This Indigo Suede Shirt Jacket is cut to a relaxed silhouette has hand warmer pockets on the sides with a touch of the tie dye design on both pocket entries. The suede material is warm and suitable for wear through the cooler days. Finished with snap buttons and made by hand from start to finish. Available across five standard sizes.
